Jesus Christ is Lord!

Luke 2:8 And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.
Luke 2:9  And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.
Luke 2:10  And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
Luke 2:11  For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
Luke 2:12  And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.
Luke 2:13  And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,
Luke 2:14  Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

He is the way, the truth, and the life! Glory to God!

TREE OF LIFE - Perfect Law of Liberty

This is a privilege AND a covenant responsibility. We have the authority in Christ.
The anointing of the Spirit of God lifts burdens and destroys yokes (Isa 10:27), thereby making us free to walk in the perfect law of liberty. (James 1:19-27)
But we must do our part to break every yoke: this IS the fast that He has chosen. (Isa 58:5-12)
God will reveal this more fully as we continue to look, with open faces, into His mirror.
That changes us from glory to glory. (2Co 3:7-18)
His yoke is easy and His burden is light. (Mat 11:1-30)
This perfect law liberates us, by His Spirit, to loose the bands of wickedness
    and crush the law of sin and death.
This law delivers, preserves, heals, and makes whole! (Rom 8:1-11)

    This is the authority a believer has in Christ; this is the victory that overcomes the world. This is the instruction of faith in Christ through the anointing of the Holy Spirit. This is the truth that makes us free, and we shall be free indeed.

    Jesus was always challenging the Pharisees and Sadducees to get out of their little religious boxes and expand their minds to grasp His teachings. Often they were so stubbornly resistant that He ended up deeply offending them, to the point that anger would well up in them and they would want to kill Him. He challenged their authority. John 8:12-59 is a great example of this.

    Jesus made one of the I AM statements:

    John 8:12 Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, I am the light of the world: he who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

    First the Pharisees accused Him of bearing false witness because He was testifying of Himself. (v. 13) Today He might hear, "You're very full of Yourself, aren't You Jesus!?" He reasoned with them, letting them know that they were in the flesh and not in the spirit, and therefore could not grasp this statement. (v. 14-16) Then He went on to say that the Father bore witness to Him (v. 18), reminding them that the law required two or three witnesses to establish a truth, so His witness was established as truth by the witness of the Father.

    At this point they said, "Go get Your Father, we want to have a word with Him." (v. 19) They were in the temple of the LORD, but so far out of the spirit that they couldn't receive from God. Jesus told them just that. They wanted to grab Him at that point, but the scripture says His time was not yet come. (v. 20) They were very angry and ready to start beating Him. Jesus gave further testimony to His prior statement by casting a light on the thoughts and intents of their hearts. He said, "I'm heading to heaven soon to be with My Father, and your murdering hearts will be seeking Me, but you won't find Me and you'll die in this sin." (v. 21) He already knew their future. They misunderstood His statement, wondering if He was talking about committing suicide. (v. 22) The reverse was true; they were committing spiritual suicide.

    Jesus got stern with them here. He let them know clearly that they were following Satan in their thought process. He warned them that unless they repented and believed on Him they were headed straight to hell. (v. 23-24) Their response? "Who are You to tell us anything?" He reiterated, "I'm only telling you what God says about you." (v. 25-26) He knew the point was lost on them forever. His next statement showed it, "You won't believe I am the Messiah until you have crucified Me on the cross." (v. 28-29) Very blunt. For many of them it finally penetrated the darkness of their hearts and they believed on Him. (v. 30-32) The rest continued to object as a group. (v. 33)

    Jesus told the converts, "Continue in My word and you will know the truth and the truth will make you free." He was both preaching and paving the way for another I AM statement, His later declaration, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." This group wasn't ready for that and they proved it. They insisted that they were Abraham's seed and not in bondage. (v. 33) He let them know regardless of their lineage that if they harbored sin in their hearts they were servants of sin and in bondage. (v. 34) Then He reminded them that He already knew their hearts and they sought to kill Him, the One Who was sent to deliver them from sin. (v. 40) He pulled out all the stops and said, "You are of your father the devil!" (v. 44)

    They turned it around in blindness of spirit. "Now we know You have a devil," they exclaimed! (v. 48) Jesus responded with His most emphatic assertion that He was in fact the God they claimed to serve when He said, "Verily, verily, Before Abraham was, I AM." (v. 58) They picked up stones to kill Him, just as He knew they would. I AM passed through the midst of them. They condemned themselves at this point: they blasphemed the Holy Spirit.

    They wanted an encounter with God in their souls. He revealed Himself to them in the Spirit and in the flesh. A religious spirit led them back into the darkness where they had lived for so long. They didn't want to part with their false power over the people of Israel, so they returned to the bondage of their own twisted belief system because it was familiar to them. They didn't want to come out of their boxes. Closed minds, and hearts, will be left behind as the Lord passes right through the midst. Then the Pharisees were the religious leaders of Israel. Now Pharisaical behavior is a mindset that Satan has exploited through the ages to destroy God's people. [Hos 4:6; Hos 13:9]

    Once more, for emphasis:

    John 8:12 Then spoke Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the

    light of the world: he that follows Me shall not walk in darkness,

    but shall have the light of life.

    What is the human spirit and how does it differ from the human soul? This is a question that I asked myself deep in my own spirit AND soul from time to time as my walk with God progressed. As I emerged more fully into his glorious light He provided me with a clearer understanding of this. This is vital to truly understanding how to have a deeper relationship with our Creator. His word makes it very clear that we must come to Him on His terms, not in some vague humanistic concept of how to approach Him. Let's listen very carefully to what He is saying.

    The Human Spirit Can Be Described In Three Parts:

  • CONSCIENCE – God's way of doing and being right. The just sense of right and wrong. The righteousness of God revealed through our spirit.
             Rom 9:1 I tell the truth in Christ, I am not lying, my conscience also bearing
             me witness in the Holy Spirit,

Rom 8:16 The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:

       Acts 24:15 I have hope in God, which they themselves also accept, that there will be
       a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and the unjust.
Acts 24:16 This being so, I myself always strive [exercise myself] to have a conscience without offense toward God and men.
  • INTUITION – Knowledge and revelation revealed by God to man.
              Mark 2:8 And immediately when Jesus perceived in His spirit that they so reasoned
              within themselves, He said to them, "Why do you reason about these things in your
  • COMMUNION – True worship of the Creator.
               John 4:24         "God is Spirit: and those who worship Him
                                                 must worship in spirit and in truth."

I Believe These Three Aspects Match Up With Aspects Of The Soul In This Manner:
  •      SPIRIT                               SOUL
  • CONSCIENCE                      WILL
  • INTUITION                           MIND
  • COMMUNION                 EMOTIONS

         God divides His Spirit to mankind. This does not diminish the Spirit of the LORD by any means; rather it is very much like His principle of seedtime and harvest. The Holy Spirit reproduces after his own kind: meaning that the human spirit is immortal and was created to be a receptacle of the same attributes of conscience, intuition and communion. When Adam walked with God in the garden he was walking in communion with Him during His dispensation of innocence. He was also entirely immature; Adam did not possess the level of conscience or intuition necessary to maintain right relationship with Him, as evidenced by his inability to follow one simple instruction from God.  I believe God intended to develop these abilities over time, sharing through communion the tree of the knowledge of good and evil (conscience) and thereby imparting the ability to perceive the heart of God (intuition) which is the tree of life. In essence, God planned to fill the innocent receptacle of the spirit of Adam with His divine nature.

    2Pe 1:2 Grace and peace be multiplied to you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,
    2Pe 1:3 According as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him Who has called us to glory and virtue:
    2Pe 1:4 Whereby are given to us exceedingly great and precious promises: that by these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

        Instead mankind chose to ignore God's warnings, and Adam was filled with corruption as a result of joining Satan's rebellion, thereby defiling his conscience. God removed Adam from access to the tree of life before mankind was able to defile the intuition as well and be eternally separated from His heart through enmity.
        His plan for the ages is nearing the next dispensation: the Alpha and Omega will return to earth and spoil rebellious principalities and powers in the physical realm. He will dethrone the rulers of the darkness of this age with the brightness of His coming, and forever defeat the spiritual hosts of wickedness with the sword of His mouth. Having purged and cleansed the spirit of Adam from corruption He will resume where He left off, filling the receptacle of the spirit of Adam with the mature capabilities of conscience and intuition during the millennium. The body of Christ will take rightful authority and position as kings and priests and aid in the execution of this dispensation. The saints will take their place once and for all in fellowship with God as co-laborers and executors of His plan for the ages. All of His enemies will take their place in the lake of fire.
        Full circle. The spirit of man is eternal. The soul of man must choose where eternity will be spent: heaven or hell.  God is urging us all to choose LIFE!

    The greatest leader we have available to us is a Person we have never "seen". His name is Holy Spirit. His leadership abilities are beyond compare. Whenever I read Scripture about the Holy Spirit I like to remove the "it" or "itself" and replace it with Him or Himself, as the case may be. He is every bit as much Person as God and Jesus. This is one major flaw that I have seen in the King James translation.     (I tend to modernize the "thees" and "thous" as well.) I decided to do an in-depth study of the Holy Spirit throughout the Bible and see exactly how He reveals Himself as the Third Person of the Godhead and our Leader into all the truth. Here's a portion of what I came up with:

  • He exposes false concepts about the word of God to the glorious light of His truth.
   Mat 22:41 While the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them,
    Mat 22:42 Saying, "What do you think about the Christ? Whose Son is He?" They said to Him, The Son of David.
    Mat 22:43 He said to them, "How then does David in the Spirit call Him 'Lord', saying,
    Mat 22:44 'The LORD said unto my Lord, "Sit thou on my right hand, till I make Your enemies Your footstool"'?
    Mat 22:45 "If David then call Him 'Lord', how is He his Son"?
    Mat 22:46 And no man was able to answer Him a word, neither dared any man from
    that day forth ask Him any more questions.
        [They learned never again to challenge His authority.]
  • He reveals the things of God to us through our spirit.
        1Co 2:10 But God has revealed them to us by His Spirit: for the Spirit searches all
  things, yes, the deep things of God.
         1Co 2:11 For what man knows the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? Even so the things of God knows no man, but the Spirit of God.
  • He brooded over the face of the waters during restoration of the earth. He does this within us too, brooding over the deep things as the Lord continuously and continually restores our souls.
    Gen 1:2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep.  And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
    Psa 23:3 He restores my soul: He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name's sake.
  • He gives us timely and accurate instruction at all times.
    Neh 9:20 You gave also Your good Spirit to instruct them, and did not withhold Your manna from their mouth, and gave them water for their thirst.
  • He decorates the heavens. He wants us to relax and enjoy ourselves too.
    Job 26:13 By His Spirit He has garnished the heavens;
  • He can be deeply hurt. He can mourn. He can be distressed. Only those He has preserved can hurt Him this way.
    Eph 4:30 And do not grieve the holy Spirit of God, by Whom you are sealed unto the day of redemption.
  • He was the Agent by which the sacrifice of Christ was delivered to the great white throne of God.
    Heb 9:14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, Who through the eternal Spirit    offered Himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

    When I read that last one I remember that He is still actively doing this, maintaining lines of communication between all believers and the Lord as He intercedes for us at the right hand of God. Hallelujah! So let's give the Holy Spirit the respect that is due Him as a Person Who is a member of the Godhead. Thank you Father, Son AND Holy Spirit! Lead me and guide me into all the truth today, and every day.

        In order to properly conduct restoration in our souls, the LORD insists that we separate ourselves from the flow of the fallen world. This is essential to your survival as a believer in Christ. It is an abuse of His grace to receive what He has done for us without expecting to make dramatic changes in our lifestyles.

1Pe 1:13 Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;
1Pe 1:14 As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance:
1Pe 1:15 But as He Who has called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;
1Pe 1:16 Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.

Rom 12:2 And do not be conformed to this world: but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

  • That YOU may prove His will in your life by walking away from the wicked flow and being abundantly blessed! How? By renewing your mind, changing your thought patterns until they are conformed to the flow of the Spirit and not the wicked flow of the fallen world.  This takes diligent study of the word of God on a daily basis.
Exo 16:4 Then said the LORD unto Moses, Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you; and the people shall go out and gather a certain rate every day, that I may prove them, whether they will walk in my law, or no.

  • God provides AND gives very specific direction to test US. The fallen world flows away from the tests of God and turns to human means for provision.

2Co 13:5 Examine yourselves, whether you be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, unless you are reprobates?

  • Without faith, the God kind of faith, it is impossible to please Him. If it isn't faith it's sin and therefore separation from God. We are to prove ourselves by examining the condition of our faith. God is administering the tests and He knows our answers before we do. He wants US to recognize in ourselves that life changing seed of faith that keeps us fighting the world flow to get closer to Him and everything He has promised. The reprobate mind represents that wicked flow.

Eph 5:8 For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord: walk as children of light:
Eph 5:9 (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;)
Eph 5:10 Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord.

  • What is acceptable to the fallen world is darkness and is unacceptable to God. Light has no part with darkness. He is light, and in Him is NO darkness at all.

 1Th 5:21 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.

  • God provides this verse as a life preserver. Hold fast to the good things that are proven in the Word. Hang on tight because the wicked flow will try to drag you under! This endtime flow is like undertow. Hold fast to that which is GOOD!  God is the source of everything good.  Find out what He says by digging deeper and deeper into His word.

Mal 3:10 Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove Me now herewith, says the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.
Mal 3:11 And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, says the LORD of hosts.
Mal 3:12 And all nations shall call you blessed: for you shall be a delightsome land, says the LORD of hosts.

  • Prove ME now herewith, says the LORD of hosts! Here is the one place where God says hold ME to My word. I AM the covenant-keeping Almighty God, and as you fight the flow of wickedness and overcome I will pour out your reward straight from heaven! We overcome by the blood of the Lamb, the word of our testimony, and by not loving our lives to death. (Rev 12:11) This walk is a serious commitment, but the rewards of having a direct relationship with our Creator are limitless. Like days of heaven on earth. Don't just tithe your money, tithe yourself!

     I chose "PROVE" as a keyword for this meditation. I use a searchable Bible tool and find all the verses that pertain to that word, letting the Lord lead me to the ones He would like for a focus of my study. SEE JOSHUA 1:8.

        There is only one foundation that will prevail: Jesus Christ. He is the Chief Corner Stone, the stone which the builders rejected.

1Co 3:10 According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another builds thereon. But let every man take heed how he builds thereupon.
1Co 3:11 For other foundation can no man lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
1Co 3:12 Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;
1Co 3:13 Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the Day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.
1Co 3:14 If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.
1Co 3:15 If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.

     We are lively stones being built up into a spiritual house, placed upon the foundation of the Living Stone and Chief Corner Stone, and we are growing into our position as the dwelling place of God on the earth.

        1Pe 2:5 Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.
        1Pe 2:6 Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on Him shall not be confounded.

        Eph 2:19 Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints, and of the household of God;
        Eph 2:20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief corner stone;
        Eph 2:21 In Whom all the building fitly framed together grows unto a holy temple in the Lord:
        Eph 2:22 In Whom ye also are built together for a habitation of God through the Spirit.

        Acts 17:24 God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that He is Lord of heaven and earth, dwells not in temples made with hands;
        Acts 17:25 Neither is worshipped with men's hands, as though He needed anything, seeing He gives to all life, and breath, and all things;

        Zec 6:12 And speak unto him, saying, Thus says the LORD of hosts, saying, Behold the man whose name is The BRANCH; and He shall grow up out of his place, and He shall build the temple of the LORD:
        Zec 6:13 Even He shall build the temple of the LORD; and He shall bear the glory, and shall sit and rule upon his throne; and He shall be a priest upon his throne: and the counsel of peace shall be between them both.

        Exo 20:25 And if thou wilt make me an altar of stone, thou shalt not build it of hewn stone: for if thou lift up thy tool upon it, thou hast polluted it.

         Christ shall place us where He will as He builds the temple, and He shall bear the glory and be a priest upon His throne. We are not to be "hewn" stones, not a temple made with hands but molded and shaped by our Maker, Who gives us life and breath and all things.
         So therefore it becomes apparent that Zec 6:12-13 refers to the period after the Judgment Seat of Christ in 1Co 3:13-15 above, at which time the nature of our works in building a spiritual house on the Foundation are judged and our position in the eternal temple of God is set. At this point Christ, the Master Builder, places each of us in position within the temple of the LORD. We ARE pillars in the temple of God. Rev 3:12
         Now referring back to Eph 2:19-22: we are "of the household of God" – quite literally the raw material of which the temple will be constructed. Lively, stones that are living. Read a little further: "fitly framed together grows" (stones that grow; change shape; emerge and ripen). "You also are built together for a habitation of God in the Spirit." As Jesus Christ Himself IS the chief corner stone then we also ARE stones set on Him, a dynamic living temple! KNOW YE NOT THAT YE ARE THE TEMPLE OF THE LIVING GOD? 1Co 3:16

       Imagine a medieval castle with a sophisticated defense system.  First a moat with a drawbridge. High walls surround the castle "keep", broad enough to post sentries all along the walls.  Towers provide an even greater vantage point from which to repel any invader.  The keep is where the treasures are guarded and where the king or lord of the land would stay in the event of a siege.

       The physical characteristics of modern defense systems don't bear much resemblance to a medieval fortress.  However, the mind and its defenses can still be accurately described in this manner, but for the purposes of this discussion these are unholy defenses built by our adversary to defend lies, false beliefs and improper thought patterns he uses to separate us from God.  Hear what the Spirit is saying:

              2Co 10:3  For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:
              2Co 10:4  (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through

                                 God to the pulling down of strong holds;)
              2Co 10:5  Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself

                                 against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every
                                 thought to the obedience of Christ;
              2Co 10:6  And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your

                                obedience is fulfilled.

       I believe the Spirit is saying that when we are born of flesh and blood we are born into sin and carnality, and we are incapable of anything but carnal warfare in this state.  This warfare leads only to strife and hatred and ultimately death, both physical and spiritual.  Yet when we are born into the Spirit, God makes supernatural weapons available to us.  As we learn how to use these weapons we can tear down strongholds, refute evil imaginations and high-minded thoughts and conceits.  Now we are equipped to do battle with our true enemy.  We will no longer accept anything contrary to the truth about ourselves or about God.  In effect, we have been rescued from behind enemy lines by the Lord Himself and He restores the spiritual communication system He intended before Adam fell.  We become able to recognize our true enemy and his demonic allies and we have the weapons necessary to defeat Satan every time.  Armed with the sword of the Spirit, we are empowered to take back the terrain of our minds and receive the victory Jesus provided for us through His death, burial and resurrection.

       While we know that Jesus made a public display of principalities and powers when He spoiled them, this is not a passive battle for us.  Our part now is to take the authority that God delegated to us through Jesus and pick up that word sword and fight back against the evil that tries to beset us.  If the sword of the Spirit stays in its sheath it is essentially ineffective in our lives.  Christ demonstrated this when He dispatched the devil in the wilderness by using the word of God.  2COR 10:5-6 make it plain also: casting down.......bringing into captivity......having in a readiness!  These are words of action that lead to triumph in Christ.  Let us always remember that the war begins in the mind of the believer.  In order to gain victory we have to use all of the weapons available to us and use them in the proper manner.
