GIMEL: BOUNTIFUL LIFE IN GOD’S WORD

A deeper revelation of our benefits and authority in Christ.
22 Meditations on Psalm 119, PART 3

GIMEL. (Psalm 119:17-24)
17Deal bountifully with Thy servant, that I may live, and keep Thy word.

In the last post we saw that walking with God will lead to His progressive cleansing of our hearts and restoration of our souls. Remember that God has the same goal that He has always had for mankind: to be made in His image. This is our reasonable service. (Rom 12:1-3) The Lord Jesus paid the ultimate price for our sins, pouring out His Godhood and His soul in order to restore mankind to the Father. Now the LORD God only requires that we dedicate our lives to Him, walking in the gifts and calling that He placed upon our lives, and He will lovingly nurture us and bless us as only our heavenly Father can. He will indeed deal bountifully with His servants, as we keep His word and receive His abundant life. Miracles unfold and intricate concepts are made plain and simple as we progress in our walk with Him, and this will make us seem alien to those who are not. (Psa 119:18-19) Still our minds, wills, and emotions are straining to hear the next deep revelation that His word has to offer. It is a hunger and thirst that only He can satisfy.
Again we see the Scripture turning to testimonies here. (Psa 119:22-24) The princes of the world system will hold one in reproach and contempt for speaking the testimonies of God, yet as we are faithful to keep them the Lord will work even this to our good, allowing them to be applied in our lives like the purging fires that separate pure metals from dross. (Dan 3:1-30) The result is a deeper level of cleansing and a more fervent desire to know Him intimately. The proud are rebuked when they overstep His purposes, and our faithfulness to follow His leading brings greater understanding. As we respond in faith to Him in the midst of the fire and water of trials, the Lord will incline to us and the transformation occurs. Faith is what pleases Him, and He rewards it with His abundant blessing. (Heb 11:1-10) All the while, God is working in our lives, preparing us for placement in His redemptive plan, and ultimately for our eternal purpose in the ages to come. Consider the trials an exercise in building our faith reliance in Him, receiving instruction in the authority He has given us, and using it properly.

He purposed to make us in His image. He does not get discouraged, and He does not give up. Every single thing He set out to do will come to pass, including delivering mankind from the fear of death that results in bondage. (Heb 2:15) This is the curse that Adam and Eve allowed when they came into agreement with the serpent, thereby handing over the authority that God had given man. This is the curse by which the devil robbed mankind of the glory of God and the true likeness He intended. Spiritual and physical death will be eliminated when God's plan for the end of this current age comes to fruition. It will be ushered in by the millennial reign of the Lord Jesus Christ. This is His plan to resurrect mankind in the image of Christ (His express image) and defeat Satan, death, and hell for all eternity. (Heb 1:3; Rev 20:10; Rev 20:13-14)

Rom 8:29 For whom He did foreknow, He also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren.
Gen 1:28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
