ALEPH: WALKING IN GOD’S LAW

The weapons of our warfare to defeat the spirit of the world.

22 Meditations on Psalm 119, PART 1

STRONGHOLDS, IMAGINATIONS AND HIGH THINGS. This is the central focus of the Jericho Daily concept.

ALEPH. (Psalm 119:1-8)

1Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the LORD.

What does it mean to be undefiled in a world where ones senses could be constantly assaulted with impurity? The media constantly flood the airwaves and print with defiled thinking, to the point where many fail to recognize it as they are so desensitized to it. The devil has not changed his original strategy of introducing doubt and unbelief into the human mind with regard to the Word of God. This is a direct challenge to faith in God, without which it is impossible to please Him. (Heb 11:6) Satan has been practicing his tactics for many centuries, and as he is the prince of the power of the air (which includes the airwaves), he has taken full advantage of modern technology to advance his evil agenda. It is essential for the believer to respond to the prompting of the Holy Spirit, and to keep in mind that every piece of technology can be turned off when it is a source of defilement. This selection process is similar to the parable of the wheat and the tares, with one major difference: we can easily send the defiling information to the threshing floor to be discarded, without tearing up the pure information that the Lord wants us to receive. (Mat 13:24-29) As we stay in tune to the Holy Spirit, He will lead us and guide us in this process.

The exchange between Eve and the serpent in the Garden of Eden is the pattern for the way the devil attacks mankind now. In order to defile the soul of God's people, the devil will attempt to twist God's word and get us to accept concepts that are not from God. To remain undefiled the believer must be immersed in the pure word of God. This is the primary way that we can know and understand God, His laws, and His will. Time spent in the word every day, at the beginning of each day, is essential to keeping oneself unspotted by the world. This is the diligence that God requires. (Psa 119:4) When we do this, we can quickly identify the false doctrines that the devil sprinkles into the word to try to subvert it. God's Word (Christ), written on our hearts, will rise up as the sword of the Spirit, and we can then defeat every lying stronghold.

It would be very dangerous, even presumptuous, to suggest that this is anything but a process. It begins at the rebirth of our spirit and continues outward into our soul, inspiring our mind, will, and emotions to new levels of faith in walking with God. But never be deceived into believing that you do not have an active part in this process. We as believers must continue to practice these things on a regular basis. (2Co 10:3-6) As we submit to the Holy Spirit, the Lord will identify areas that we need to change, and we can walk out the promises He made to us in Psalm 23. One of the greatest benefits God intends for us to receive through Christ is the restoration of our souls. As we are purified in our hearts and minds, and increasingly so for the rest of our days on the earth, we can truly receive and walk in the law of the LORD. This is the miraculous transforming power that God wants to, and WILLS to bring to bear in our lives. This is His free gift of redemption, according to His plan and purpose, by which we can inherit His original intention of being His creation, in His image. (Eph 2:8; Gen 1:26-27)

1Cor 2:12
Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.
