RECEIVING OUR INHERITANCE

Heritage is not so much about where you came from, as it is about where the LORD says He is leading you. He said, "This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD." Isa 54:17

Receiving our inheritance from God is about following the lead of Jesus Christ in love, encouraging one another, and filling up these things over the course of time with energy and endurance:

Hebrews 6:10-12

"Imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises."

Matthew 25:34

It is about staying focused on the source of all blessing, and His long range goals, not our own.

1 Corinthians 15:50

It is about maintaining focus on the spiritual lives we lead, and walking in that Spirit Who dwells in us.

1 Peter 3:9

It calls for a deep commitment to look past the appearance of a matter and see Him working in the underlying fabric of existence. This is hardly as easy as it might sound, and the emotions will always try to kick in and take over, but if we keep in mind the promises and sacrifices He has made to us and for us, we can receive all the benefits of succeeding through these challenges.

Hebrews 9:15

His promises are all, "Yes" and "Amen". I keep working at keeping these things in mind, and they are starting to get down into my heart as well. Spirit, soul, and body; I want to walk in this inheritance at all times.

Ephesians 1:3-14

3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, 4 just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, 5 having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, 6 to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved.

7 In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace 8 which He made to abound toward us in all wisdom and prudence, 9 having made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure which He purposed in Himself, 10 that in the dispensation of the fullness of the times He might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven and which are on earth—in Him. 11 In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will, 12 that we who first trusted in Christ should be to the praise of His glory.

13 In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, 14 who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.

LIVING STONES

God told His people not to use hewn stones when building His altars. The tools used in shaping stones would profane them, rendering them unfit for sacrifices. (EXO 20:24-25) The same is true of our lives: we must not interfere with His shaping, transforming process in order for it to be effectual in our lives. We must submit to the Holy Spirit as lively stones and allow Him to be the molding tool, through the word of God, that makes us suitable living sacrifices to God.

He said to build the altar for peace offering from earth, the same thing He built us from. (GEN 3:19) As we make the sacrifices of the heart and spirit that He requires, He will record His name on our hearts, and bless us with His purpose for our lives.  We are His temple, built on the foundation of Jesus Christ.
