Rescuing the soul that is stuck in the mud.

22 Meditations on Psalm 119, PART 4
DALETH. (Psalm 119:25-32)
25My soul cleaveth unto the dust: quicken Thou me according to Thy Word.

“My soul cleaves unto the dust.”  The Hebrew word for dust here can also mean clay, earth, or mud.  The mud is where the world spends its time, and if you step outside of the Word too long it can suck you in like quicksand.  That is why the Lord warns us not to be conformed to the world: the flow of this world system will suck you in if you let it, and carry you straight down the drain. (Rom 12:2)  When your soul is stuck in the mud, meditating on God’s word is the key to revival and restoration.  It will quicken, or make alive, your mind, will, and emotions.  It will strengthen you, and as you renew your perspective toward God His testimonies come back into view.  He is the Faithful Potter.  He will transform you by the power of His testimonies, and you are able to stand up and declare your ways before God, Who hears our cries and responds by teaching His ways on a deeper spiritual level. (Psa 119:26)
