Who You Are In Christ

                The Holy Spirit put this on my heart one night, right after I had spent several hours finding references to Jesus in every book of the Bible.  The LORD refers to my Lord so many times throughout the Bible in BOTH testaments.  Always remember that he is the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world; Alpha and Omega; the beginning and the end.  Without Him there is no redemption, so as a believer you truly need to have a strong sense of who you are in Christ.  After finding Him in every book of the Bible this exercise just naturally flowed and gave me a greater sense of the work He has done, is doing, and will do for me.

·         You are called to glory and virtue.
 2Pe 1:3 According as His divine power has given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him that has called us to glory and virtue:
·         You, as a lively stone, are being fitted into a spiritual house.
 1Pe 2:5 You also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.
·         You are blessed with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places.
 Eph 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:
·         You are forgiven according to the riches of His grace.
 Eph 1:7 In Whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace;
·         You have obtained an inheritance.
 Eph 1:11 In Whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of Him who works all things after the counsel of His own will:
·         You are sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise.
 Eph 1:13 In Whom you also trusted, after that you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in Whom also after that you believed, you were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
·         You may receive the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him. (Ask and it shall be given. Mat 7:7)
 Eph 1:17 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him:
·         You are raised up together and made to sit together in heavenly places in Christ.
 Eph 2:6 And has raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
·         You are made near to God by the blood of Christ.
 Eph 2:13 But now in Christ Jesus you who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.
                Ephesians is a wonderful New Testament book to write on your heart when you need a greater understanding of who you are in Christ.  When you approach this epistle from this standpoint a wealth of God’s riches will be unfolded to you over and over. Continuing, I decided to back up to Romans and go in order:
·         You are quickened (made alive and whole and healed) by His Spirit Who dwells in you. (Whenever the Spirit is referred to as that I like to change it to Who. He is a Person too!)
 Rom 8:11 But if the Spirit of Him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by His Spirit that dwells in you.
·         You are the temple of God, and the Spirit of God dwells in you.
 1Co 3:16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?
·         You are able to speak mysteries to God in the spirit.
 1Co 14:2 For he that speaks in an unknown tongue speaks not unto men, but unto God: for no man understands him; but in the spirit he speaks mysteries.
·         You are a new creation; reconciled to God.
             2Co 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
             2Co 5:18 And all things are of God, Who hath reconciled us to Himself by Jesus Christ, and has given to us the ministry of reconciliation;

·         You are the righteousness of God.
 2Co 5:21 For He hath made Him to be sin for us, Who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.
·         You are justified through faith and blessed with faithful Abraham.
            Gal 3:8 And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed.
Gal 3:9 So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham.
·         You are a child of light.
 Eph 5:8 For you were sometimes darkness, but now you are light in the Lord: walk as children of light:
·         You are a child of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation.
 Phil 2:15 That you may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom you shine as lights in the world;
·         You are made fit to be a partaker of the inheritance of the saints in light.
 Col 1:12 Giving thanks unto the Father, Who has made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:
·         You are delivered from the power of darkness and translated into the kingdom of Christ.
 Col 1:13 Who has delivered us from the power of darkness, and has translated us into the kingdom of His dear Son:
·         You are not appointed to wrath, but to obtain salvation.
 1Th 5:9 For God has not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,
·         You are chosen to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth.
 2Th 2:13 But we are bound to give thanks always to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God has from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:
·         You are holding faith and a good conscience.
 1Ti 1:19 Holding faith, and a good conscience; which some having put away concerning faith have made shipwreck:
·         You are fighting the good fight of faith and laying hold on eternal life.
 1Ti 6:12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto you are also called, and have professed a good profession before many witnesses.
·         You are filled with the Spirit of power and of love and of a sound mind.
 2Ti 1:7 For God has not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
·         You are saved by the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Ghost.
 Tit 3:5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
·         You were a servant and now you are a brother.
 Phm 1:16 Not now as a servant, but above a servant, a brother beloved, especially to me, but how much more unto you, both in the flesh, and in the Lord?
·         You are looking to the Author and Finisher of faith.
 Heb 12:2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
·         You are crowned with glory and honor.
 Heb 2:7 You made him a little lower than the angels; thou crowned Him with glory and honor, and did set Him over the works of Your hands:
·         You are looking into the perfect law of liberty.
 James 1:25 But whoever looks into the perfect law of liberty, and continues therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.
·         You are begotten again to a lively hope; to an undefiled, incorruptible inheritance; that does not fade away and is reserved in heaven for you.
         1Pe 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
 1Pe 1:4 To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fades not away, reserved in heaven for you,
·         You have been given all things that pertain to life and godliness. (It’s up to you to receive them.)
 2Pe 1:3 According as His divine power has given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him that has called us to glory and virtue:
·         You are walking in the truth.
 2Jo 1:4 I rejoiced greatly that I found your children walking in truth, as we have received a commandment from the Father.
·         You are prospering and in health in direct proportion to the prosperity in your soul.
 3Jo 1:2 Beloved, I wish above all things that you may prosper and be in health, even as your soul prospers.
·         You are returning someday, with an innumerable multitude of His saints.
 Jude 14 And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord is coming with ten thousands of his saints,
·         You are a pillar in the temple of God.
 Rev 3:12 Him that overcomes will I make a pillar in the temple of My God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of My God, and the name of the city of My God, which is new Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from My God: and I will write upon him My new name.

                                If you have not yet received Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, you are separated from God and none of this applies to you.  YET!  Follow the pattern from the scriptures below and you can begin your journey into ALL of these promises.  A prayer based upon these passages will invite God to fill your life and He is waiting to respond.

 John 3:16-21
For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved.
He that believes on Him is not condemned: but He that does not believe is condemned already, because He has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
For every one that does evil hates the light, neither comes to the light, for fear that his deeds should be reproved.
But he that does truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

 Rom 10:9 That if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and will believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
 Rom 10:10 For with the heart man believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

 Luk 11:13 If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?

             After you have prayed these prayers and invited the Lord into your life, get some good teaching and grow into the above scriptures and this one:
·         You have heard.  You have seen with your eyes.  You have looked upon and your hands have handled the Word of life.
 1Jo 1:1  That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life;
 1Jo 1:2 (For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and show unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;)
 1Jo 1:3 That which we have seen and heard we declare unto you, that you also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.

 I limited my results to the New Testament as the Holy Spirit was not available to ALL believers until this time.  I welcome any references that you may know of in the Old Testament.
