Psalms 112 KJV

1. Praise ye the LORD. Blessed is the man that feareth the LORD, that delighteth greatly in his commandments. [a]

2. His seed shall be mighty upon earth: the generation of the upright shall be blessed.

3. Wealth and riches shall be in his house: and his righteousness endureth for ever.

4. Unto the upright there ariseth light in the darkness: [b] he is gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous.

[b] Literal as well as spiritual (Psa. 27:1, 36:9, 43:3, 44:3, 56:13, 89:15; Isa. 60:1-3).

5. A good man sheweth favour, and lendeth: he will guide his affairs with discretion.

6. Surely he shall not be moved for ever: the righteous shall be in everlasting remembrance.

7. He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the LORD.

8. His heart is established, he shall not be afraid, until he see his desire upon his enemies.

9. He hath dispersed, he hath given to the poor; his righteousness endureth for ever; [1] his horn shall be exalted with honour.

[1] The verse screws up the system of the Hyperdispensationalists, for here is an Old Testament passage, given under the Law, applied to a New Testament Christian under grace (2 Cor. 9:9). The Lord crosses dispensational lines just as He did in Matthew 15:26-28 (cf. Matt. 10:5-6). The “righteousness” of this verse is personal righteousness, not the imputed righteousness of God. It is applied to the Christian because “fine linen is the righteousness of the saints” (see notes on Rev. 19:8).

10. The wicked shall see it, and be grieved; he shall gnash with his teeth, and melt away: [c] the desire of the wicked shall perish.

And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, [d] clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints. [e]

Note on Psa. 45:13 KJV

The king’s daughter is all glorious within: her clothing is of wrought gold. [5]

[5] The “clothing” is “gold” underwear, symbolizing Deity. This is “imputed righteousness” in the New Testament. The outward clothing is “raiment of needle work” (vs. 14). It is defined as white linen, and it constitutes the personal righteousness of the person who wears it (Rev. 19:8).
