Psalms 64 KJV

To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David.

1. Hear my voice, O God, in my prayer: preserve my life from fear of the enemy.

2. Hide me from the secret counsel of the wicked; [a] from the insurrection of the workers of iniquity:

[a] The “ten kings” under the Antichrist (Dan. 2:41-43; Rev. 17:12).

3. Who whet their tongue like a sword, and bend their bows to shoot their arrows, even bitter words:

4. That they may shoot in secret at the perfect: suddenly do they shoot at him, and fear not.

5. They encourage themselves in an evil matter: they commune of laying snares privily; they say, Who shall see them? [b]

6. They search out iniquities; they accomplish a diligent search: both the inward thought of every one of them, and the heart, is deep.

7. But God shall shoot at them with an arrow; suddenly shall they be wounded.

8. So they shall make their own tongue to fall upon themselves: all that see them shall flee away.

9. And all men shall fear, and shall declare the work of God; for they shall wisely consider of his doing.

10. The righteous shall be glad in the LORD, and shall trust in him; and all the upright in heart shall glory.

Psalms 63 KJV

A Psalm of David, when he was in the wilderness of Judah.

1. O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: [a] my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is;

[a] Prov. 8:17.

2. To see thy power and thy glory, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary. [b]

[b] 2 Sam. 7:18; 2 Kings 19:14.

3. Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee.

4. Thus will I bless thee while I live: I will lift up my hands in thy name.

5. My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness; and my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips:

6. When I remember thee upon my bed, and meditate on thee in the night watches.

7. Because thou hast been my help, therefore in the shadow of thy wings will I rejoice.

8. My soul followeth hard after thee: thy right hand upholdeth me.

9. But those that seek my soul, to destroy it, shall go into the lower parts of the earth. [c]

[c] The reference is Messianic as well as Davidic (1 Pet. 3:18-20; Eph. 4:8-9).

10. They shall fall by the sword: they shall be a portion for foxes.

11. But the king shall rejoice in God; [d] every one that sweareth by him shall glory: but the mouth of them that speak lies shall be stopped.
